First Radio Broadcast

45 years ago — on September 23, 1971 — there I was: prepubescent, wearing braces — and on the radio.  If you think I looked goofy, wait until you — (wince) — hear how I sounded.

A decade later — still before I grew up and got serious about college and journalism — I had more fun than you can imagine as a disc jockey in Hawaii — calling myself “Charlie O’Henry.” (My sister tells me I was a lot more fun back then.) This was my last show at Top 40 powerhouse KKUA in Honolulu.
